Transformers: Devastation is what fans of the 80’s series is waiting for. Devastation is a action hack and slash video game  developed by PlatinumGames ( known for Bayonetta, MadWorld and Wonderful 101) and published by Activision. Transformers is based on a Toyline by Hasbro and  Takara Tomy. Transformers spawns movies (I hate Micheal Bay), TV shows, comics and I coarse toys. If you don’t know what Transformers is let me give you a rundown. Transformer are alien robots which they can transform into vehicles and fight with weapons. The heroes of the franchise is called Autobots lead by Optimus Prime  and their enemies the Decepticons lead by Megatron, These two fraction are at war with each other if you read the comics and watch the series.

Let talk about the game, The plot of the game is Decepticons are trying to take over New York along with the  Insecticons and the  Constructicons.  The Autobots are trying to investigate a Autobot ship called Proudstar and figure about to not fall into the hands of Megatron. The gameplay is your average but it’s Transformers you can transform in to vehicle race round New York, put off combos  and finish off by running over you enemies (which I love to do), go on side missions, upgrade your weapons and tech and switch between Optimus, Wheel Jack, Bumblebee, Grimlock and Sideswipe. Each character has a Overdrive attack( if you build up enough energy) and special ability (such as Bumblebee can under robots and Sideswipe can move fast).  I love the dodging it slow down time to give you time to attack.  After you beat the game you can do challenges.  The graphics of the game is cel-shaded to make it look like the cartoon with 720p resolution. The  characters designs are from generation 1 Transforms which you are 80’s fan.

Speaking of  80’s cartoon they bought back the voice actors such as Frank Welker, Peter Cullen, Dan Gilvezan, Michael Bell and Gregg Berger. The composer of the game is Vince DiCola (who did Transformers: The Movie). The story was written former Transformers comic writer and editor Andy Schmidt. There are DLCs such as skins of other Transformers ( Nemesis Prime, Red Alert, and Goldfire) and additional weapons. If you are a Transformers fan check this series out. Transformers: Devastation is available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
