Phil Spencer Says Xbox One is not selling well in Japan

There is a interview with head of Xbox Phil Spencer. He stated that Xbox is not big in Japan due to games such as Persona 5 and Nioh. Here is what he said and afterward I am going to give my opinion on it. The question stated”What are your personal thoughts on why the Xbox One is not a much bigger name over here in Japan” Phil answered “I think it’s due to a lot of games that are released on the console, I feel that a lot of the games are not games that the Japanese public would play and get themselves into. A lot of Japanese gamers really seem to like games such as Persona 5 or Nioh and that is why we decided to get in touch with Japanese developers to create such games as Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 36o”.

I am going to give my opinion on this. The reason Xbox is not big in Japan is due to the sells (chart down below).

I did a post on it about localization you can check it out.  If Xbox want to make it big and Japan they have to appeal to Japanese market. Don’t put out first-person shooters because the Japanese  want variety of games.   That’s why the choose Sony because they’re are opening arms for the Japanese market and continue to sell well in Japan than Xbox. The only JRPGs that came on Xbox is Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey which did poorly on sells.

I know Xbox sell well in other countries than Japan. If you want to make a product you have to appeal with other culture worldwide. If you don’t give what people want then you are doom to fail. Microsoft if you want to beat Sony you have to give what the people in Japan want. What are you thoughts on it?  Do you think Xbox will sell well in Japan?
