If you have not heard Capcom just release a trailer of The Disney Afternoon Collection which features 6 classic game from the NES era such as Chip ’n Dale Rescue RangersDarkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Talespin and more. Fun fact Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic) did a video on it as well give it watch.  There is some games missing from the collection such as Goof Troop (Capcom), Bonkers (Sega, Capcom), Gargoyles (Buena Vista Interactive) and  Mighty Ducks (Tiger Electronics). As for myself the only show I ever watch was Chip and Dale, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop and Duck Tales. I ever those opening it’s a breathe of fresh air not there are gone what does the nest generation will look at on Disney. There are other show I have not mention such as Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Aladdin, The Lion King’s Timon and Pumbaa and more.

Let’s go over the history of The Disney Afternoon, as you know it’s was a two-hour block Mondays through Fridays at  3–5 pm.It’s started with the Disney aired Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears and  Duck Tales those two shows was packed in to a one-hour-long cartoon block from 1989 to 1990. Disney and Fox (which was affiliated with DuckTales and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers at the time) were in a dispute which Fox wanted a shorter time frames for local programming and Duck Tales and Chip n Dale was pulled from Fox (which now has Fox Kids as their competition). Disney Afternoon later acquire short segments such as Raw Toonage and Darkwing Duck due to the partnership with Marvel Comics ( also started a comic line based on the shows). Disney Afternoon was replaced (due to Leo Burnett and Kellogg’s partnership)  by  Disney’s One Too due to the decreasing business in the syndicated children’s television market and new competitors such as Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. The Disney Afternoon had some memorable shows and it will be in our hearts until this day.  Make sure you buy The Disney Afternoon Collection on April 18.
