Is It Too Late to Start a Blog and Do It For a Living?

The answer to that question it’s not too late to start a blog. Make sure you have an idea and brainstorm on what topics or theme you what your blog to be about. I know starting off small is difficult but the more work you put into it the better the result. There is a quote I like to recited “If there is opportunity always take the shot” that means if you run a successful blog you are more likely to get sponsorships, mentions, rewards or maybe be on the News. When creating a blog you also have to find a niche, what makes you stand out from rest? My topic is gaming I review and talk anything that involve video games but it’s a saturated market because there are many video game news or blog outlets out such as Kotaku, IGN, Gamespot and many more. To be honest I can’t complete with these outlets but I want to be different than them. My goals for the blog is to extended it and do it for a living because I love writing and expressing myself online. As of now I wouldn’t see revenue no time soon because I am still a small blogger and don’t have enough traffic right now but I am see the result since I started last year in October 2016. I will keep on pushing to get a following and audience that will enjoy my blog posts.

Indies of the Week #10 – Valiant

Hello and welcome to another indies of the week! this theme is Valiant meaning bravery. In video games the main character goes on a journey and meets countless obstacle and trials. I will be counting down some indies that have this motif.  Here we go:

7. Soma Spirits: Rebalance -Torch60

This is a choice-driven RPG which is heavily based on choice in the world. You play as two beings heart and soul (that’s deep) who travel back in forward between World of Sorrow and Joy to find themselves. The game features multiple opportunities to change the story’s outcome, music changes when you are in the two  worlds, five endings and outcome in the main story. The combat system (which reminds me Dragon Quest) let you switch characters with each abilities and three different difficulty levels. If you want a indie where you can switch between characters in different world, support this game and it;s available on Steam now.

AAA Titles Games and VR Is So 80s Says Cliff Bleszinski

Cliff Bleszinski did a panel at Dubrovnik’s Reboot Develop 2017, where he talks about state of AAA games and what they cost $60 and DLC. Bleszinski quoted that “nearly unsustainable” due to the very high on aspects like graphics, feature sets, polish and overall quality. He used examples such as  Horizon: Zero Dawn due to the seven years of development and says  “its main focus is actually to sell PlayStation consoles rather than just copies of the game”.  Bleszinski also presented  Digital AA games such as Warframe, Rocket League and RUST  and his own Lawbreaker saying that due to the limited budget these games are successful. As for the “VR is in the 80s period” which Bleszinski quoted in the panel.  Bleszinski is a fan of VR since the 80s due to array of wave person shooter during the Atari days.  Bleszinski worries about developers s learning how to properly use VR and the technology itself still constantly improving in the near feature.

Heroes of the Storm – The Ultimate Blizzard Crossover MOBA Review

This game is Blizzard Entertainment version of League of Legends or DOTA and it’s not called a multiplayer online battle arena or action real-time strategy but a hero brawler. You can choose from your favorite heroes from Blizzard franchises such as Overwatch, StartCraft, The Lost Vikings, Diabio, HeartStone and Warcraft. During the making of the game it was a part of a custom map called Blizzard DOTA in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty that showcase mods at BlizzCon 2010. Blizzard Entertainment Vice President Rob Pardo felt that Valve was using that Trademark name DOTA that was originated from the Warcraft Community. Blizzard filed a lawsuit against Valve for claiming the DOTA trademark, after the dispute has settled Valve retain the named DORA and Blizzard Entertainment had to change the named to Blizzard All-Stars. After the game reached a significant internal testing milestone and looking to put their own spin on it, it was change to Heroes of the Storm (due to StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm) by the Blizzard All-Stars team.

The Pirate Mermaid – Under The Sea

The Pirate Mermaid is a  fantasy otome visual novel where you can become a hero or villain. Developed by in this game you can become a  legendary pirate, mermaid queen, sorceres and any thing you can think of. The plot of the game is , you are saved and find a sorcerer who will make you a magical contract – with a catch. He’ll transform you into a mermaid to grab the treasure, if you bring him a red vial from the mermaids. If you fail, you’ll be turned into a lobster. The game reminds me of the Little Mermaid and it’s very fairy tail-ish. I think the female demographic will love this and males as well.

Why I Don’t Accept Awards and Talents Comes From Within

Everyone deserved recognition for their hard work and dedicating for what they do but don’t you feel like you are robbing someone and taking credit for other. As for me I accepted awards but I don’t feel I deserve it because my hard work and passion comes from within and I don’t need a trophy, a certificate, a diploma or maybe an Oscar to tell me I am doing a good job. You don’t need those to tell you’re doing a great job, you as the person who is passionate on what you do. Whether you are a Blogger, YouTuber, Musician, Actor and many others. I know some of your work and you ever get employee of the month or promotion which most likely happens in a workplace. I want to ask you how to do you feel about a promotion or employment? Do you still treated the same? Are you happy? Does someone else deserve it more than you do? What about winning the Major Leagues, Playoffs or Super Bowl? They have crowned the MVP of the season for the most popular and well-known player but what about the other teammates should they get shine. What are the Oscars speaking of that, what happens if the same actor won 5 awards but none of the nominees didn’t get any of them do you feel bad.
